PHARMACEUTICAL PROPERTIES
Fenbendazole is an anthelmintic of the benzimidazole family with great activity against
gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes and on the tænia. Like other benzimidazoles,
fenbendazole works by inhibiting the polymerization of microtubilin, which causes disorganization
cells and death of the parasite by starvation. Pharmacologically, fenbendazole is metabolized in
the body into several metabolites including oxfendazole, which has great anthelmintic activity.
TARGET SPECIES
Horses and cattle.
INDICATIONS
Treatment of gastrointestinal and pulmonary stongylosis and tapeworms in cattle and horses.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
Oral route in single administration at a dose of 7.5 mg / Kg of bodyweight, i.e. 7.5 ml / 100 Kg of bodyweight.
CONTRAINDICATIONS AND INTERACTIONS
Do not combine with bromosalicylanilides douvicides.
