Oxytocin Inj is a synthetic hormone injection formulated to support reproductive and postpartum functions in animals. It enhances uterine contractions during labor, assists in the expulsion of the placenta, and helps initiate milk letdown. Oxytocin is especially useful in cases of weak or delayed labor and lactation failure in livestock and companion animals.

Key Benefits

  • Stimulates uterine contractions to aid parturition in dogs, cats, and pigs

  • Facilitates expulsion of retained placenta after birth

  • Promotes uterine involution and reduces the size of a prolapsed uterus post-replacement in cattle

  • Supports milk ejection by stimulating mammary glands

  • Useful in treating postpartum agalactia in sows (MMA complex)

  • Fast-acting, easy-to-administer intramuscular or subcutaneous solution

Ingredients

Each 1 ml contains:

  • Oxytocin (synthetic): 10 IU

  • Excipients q.s. to 1 ml

Feeding Instructions (Usage Instructions)

Route of Administration: Intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneous (SC) injection

Recommended Dosage (per animal):

  • Cattle: 4–6 ml

  • Horses: 4–5 ml

  • Pigs: 2–4 ml

  • Goats/Sheep: 1–3 ml

  • Dogs:

    • After parturition: 0.03–0.1 ml

  • Cats:

    • After parturition: 0.1–0.3 ml

Withdrawal Period:

Precautions:

  • Do not use in cases of incomplete cervical dilation

  • Avoid in dystocia due to abnormal fetal positioning or size

  • Do not administer if hypersensitive to oxytocin or excipients

  • Side effects may include vasodilation, low blood pressure, uterine overstimulation, or allergic reactions

  • In the event of anaphylaxis, administer adrenaline (1:1000) immediately

Oxytocin Inj provides essential support during and after parturition in a wide range of animals, promoting safer delivery and recovery while also improving lactation. Administer under veterinary guidance and store in a dry, cool environment for maximum effectiveness.

Storage: Store at 2°C to 15°C in a dry, dark place. Keep out of reach of children.
