Formula:
Each mL contains:
Vitamin B12 _________________ 200 mcg
Cobalt chloride ______________ 100 mg
Copper sulfate _______________ 125 mg
Ammoniacal iron citrate _______ 1250 mg
Vehicle qsp_________________ 100 mL

Cobalzan acts as a hematinic mineralizer indicated for livestock in general in the prevention and correction of hypochromic microcytic anemia common in animals and caused by various causes: diet lacking in microelements (iron, cobalt and copper); absorption defects by the intestinal walls (in diarrhea, catarrhal enteritis, etc.); major hemorrhages or chronic blood loss and anemic states caused by parasitic infestations.

Recommended as a preventative in cases where the animal's body requires above-normal nutrient supplementation: during pregnancy to form fetal blood, during lactation, during growth, during convalescence, and as an adjunct to the treatment of anemia-causing diseases (babesiosis, piroplasmosis, anaplasmosis, etc.).

Oral administration for cobalt deficiencies in ruminants to enable the synthesis of vitamin B12.

Dosage:

Injectable use:
Large adult animals -

10 mL for every 150 kg of body weight per dose.

Maximum of 30 mL.
Calves, sheep, and adult pigs -

10 mL per dose.
Small animals (piglets, dogs, cats, etc.) -

2 to 5 mL per dose.

Apply twice a week for a total of 5 to 10 applications.
As a prophylactic, apply once a week.
Repeat the treatment if necessary after a 1-week rest period. For doses of 10 mL or more, divide them into 2 or 3 portions and inject into different areas of the animal's body.
Oral use in ruminants:
In cases of cobalt deficiencies in ruminants due to nutritional deficiencies, Cobalzan should be administered orally at the following doses:
Large adult animals -

20 to 30 mL twice a week diluted in a little water.
Sheep -

10 mL.
For collective treatments, the use of a dosing gun is recommended.

It is up to the Veterinarian to determine whether a maintenance dosage fraction of the curative is necessary after the disappearance of clinical symptoms.

Administration:

By injection in intramuscular or subcutaneous applications.
In cases of cobalt deficiency in ruminants, administer orally.

Precautions:

Do not inject intravenously.

Presentation:

100 mL vial.

Therapeutic Class:
