Composition:
Each 1 ml contains :
Levamisole HCl 30 mg
Oxyclozanide 60 mg
Properties:
Levamisole is a potent anthelmintic which is effective against adult and larval gastrointestinal roundworms and lungworms.
It has a very rapid effect on parasites, expelling most worms within 24 hours.
Oxyclozanide is a salicylanide anthelmintic, used for treatment and control of fascioliasis in cattle, sheep and goats.
The mechanism of action of oxyclozanide is to effect the energy production of the parasite by uncoupling the oxidative phosphorylation in flukes.
Indications:
Levacloz is broad spectrum deworming drench, which is effective against plumonary worms (Dictyocaulus spp.) and gastrointestinal worms (as: Haemonchus,Ostertagia, Trichostrongylus, Cooperia, Nematodirus, Oesophagostomum, Bunostomum and Moniezia spp. (tapeworm segment), as well as, liver flukes (fascioliasis).
Dosage and administration:
Levacloz is administered orally to cattle, sheep & goats at the dose rate of:
2.5 ml /10 kg live b.w: (oxyclozanide 15 mg/kg b.w, Ievamisole HCI:7.5 mg/kg b.w)
Advantages of Levacloz :
- Levacloz is neither embryotoxic nor teratogenic, so it can be administered during pregnancy.
-control of benzimidazoles resistant parasites by Levacloz can be expected because of its different mode of action.
